Fellowship
Breaking Bread Together
Part of a vibrant Christian organization is the
opportunity to spend time together and break bread with fellow
parishioners and guests. We do that very well at St.
Andrew’s. We share many meals throughout the year including Mother’s
Day and Father’s Day breakfasts; potluck lunches for our
Annual Meeting in January, our Welcome Back Sunday in September
and the Greening of the Church in
December. We also celebrate Shrove
Tuesday/Mardi Gras with a delicious supper. We use
any excuse to get together for a meal, and our parish is blessed with
wonderful cooks and people who love to organize and participate in
these gatherings.
In addition, we have an opportunity to welcome guests
and enjoy refreshments following each 10:15 AM Sunday
service. This is an excellent way for visitors and friends to
meet and learn more about St. Andrew’s . Refreshments are
provided by volunteers—anyone’s participation is welcome.
Altar Guild
A number of parishioners are active as members of the Altar
Guild. These members are responsible for the preparation of
the altar for all worship services.
Tuesday Group
A number of older—and not-so-old!—parishioners help keep the church and
rectory in smooth working order. From replacing the light
bulbs to ongoing maintenance, from repairing things broken and
installing other things, this group's work is invaluable. The team
meets when needed (often not on Tuesdays, although they once did),
generally on a weekly basis.
